Chief minister BS Yeddyurappa addressed the Panchayat poll campaign at Kudligere on Wednesday night

He was addressing the huge gathering during BJP’s poll campaign for the ensuing ZP and TP polls in Kudligere village here on Wednesday night.

“I could have continued as the chief minister when former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy failed to keep up his promise of sharing the powers on equal terms. But, I went for the people’s mandate obeying conscience without compromising with the ethics”, he proclaimed amidst the loud applause from the audience.

BJP government’s achievements during its two-and-a-half years administration are par excellent compared to the achievements of all the erstwhile governments put together. BJP government was not disheartened to face the economic crisis in the State and it boldly hosted the global investors’ meet at Bangalore which channeled 5 lakh crore rupees investment in the State. Similar global meet will be held on agricultural front after making provision in the next budget. Scientific price for the agricultural produces grown by the farmers, ample water supply to farms and fields, priority to horticulture and dairy farming as well as to the animal husbandry will find place in the next budget. Various programmes and projects launched after BJP came to power have benefitted more than 1.5 crore people in the State. More stress will be laid to improve Shimoga district unlike the predecessor governments did, he announced.

Panchayat system has come into existence to decentralize the governance from Delhi and Bangalore to hamlets which was also the dream of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. To ensure justified distribution of the grants received from the centre and the state governments it is imperative that BJP leaders are elected at all levels. BJP is the maiden government that announced loan to farmers at conveniently affordable rate of interest at three percent. It further aims at disbursing the loans at one percent in the days to come and the cabinet of ministers has already approved this proposal, he stated. In view of all this aims and objectives to be a reality elect BJP candidates in the ZP and TP polls that will be held on December 26, he appealed to the people.
